Let's talk about tinted moisturizer!

I'm a true freshman when it comes to makeup, but I'll do my best because I was highly encouraged by Catarina. 

 Here's the thing, I don't like to see me with foundation, because I don't feel like myself on the mirror. I've very few imperfections - thanks god I love you - and with foundation I feel old and unnatural. So, for too long, I wore makeup without giving any kind of glow to my face. In the middle of december, my mother took my sister and I to the mall in order to buy a true foundation for each one of us. And that was the day where I found the tinted moisturizers. So I asked for a foundation that looked natural without being too heavy and was easy to apply. And the shop assistant said: "You don't know tinted moisturizers? You are describing them!". 

And no, I didn't know at that what moment which are them. I bought the HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer from Clarins and I'm in love with it. It's so easy to apply and the skin looks so natural with it that it's perfect to use everyday. You don't have to waste much time in the morning or use brushes to apply it. The simple way to use it is applying it after your moisturizing cream, then apply a little of compact powder and it's done!

a weekend in the capital

Last weekend I went to Lisbon with my family! It was a great weekend!! On Saturday we visited for the first time the Berardo's museum collection. It's a very nice museum and it's free. There was a temporary exhibition of Vik Muniz's work, who is a famous plastic artist that likes to take photos of his own work. Then we ate "pastéis de Belém" which are fabulous in the original factory. But the best of this trip came in the evening - I finally saw  Cirque du Soleil! I wanted it for so long and finally I saw them! They are great and it was an amazing experience. I want to see them again and again! On Sunday, we went to an exhibition on Calouste Gulbenkian's Fondation called "European Still-Life Painting" where I saw paintings from famous painters like: Picasso, Dalí, Cézanne, Renoir, Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Léger, Duchamp, Braque, Magritte e Matisse, Amadeo, Vieira da Silva and so one.
This was a very educational weekend and I realized an old dream. I leave you with a clip from youtube where you'll see a little of what I saw in live at cirque du soleil. I hope you like it!

how to master bangs - hair tutorial nº14

One of the news i've to tell you is that I decided to get bangs in the last days of 2011. I felt like I needed a change in something to enter in 2012 in great style. I love bangs, I really love, but sometimes i've to admit that is very difficult to master them. But Lauren Conrad and her friends posted yesterday a very useful tutorial about who to blow dry heavy bangs. This has the key steps in how to master bangs, and i'm very happy to know that I blow dry my bangs in the right way.

1. Always blow out your bangs while your hair is super wet. The sooner you blow dry them out of the shower, the better the result will be. Hair is most cooperative and flexible before it air dries. 
2. Using your blow dryer with the nozzle attached and a paddle brush shift everything all the way to one side. Make sure to get warm air into the root. That will help you manipulate any unwanted “cowlicks”. 
3. Next, use your paddle brush to shift everything to the opposite side. Make sure you’re giving it a good push in the opposite direction.
4. Split the bangs in half horizontally and clip the top half up.
5. Using a medium to large sized round brush smooth the bottom layer of your bangs out. Instead of curling them under, smooth all the way through the ends and point the nozzle toward the tip of the bangs as you see in the photo! Trick: the closer you keep the brush to your forehead and the less curling under you do, the less volume they will have. The more you lift the bangs and the more you curl under, the more volume you will have. 
6. Repeat the same motions with the top layer. 
7. Take the paddle brush and shift the bangs from left to right once more to smooth everything out. Spray lightly with hairspray if desired.

I know that I've been too far away from here since the x-mas eve. But my life has been too busy for the last 2 weeks. I'll be back soon with a lot of news about my trip to Madeira Island during the last days of 2011 and my trip to Lisbon in the next weekend...

I haven't shared it with you before because I wanted to try it first to show you the result and you can see it in the picture. I love this hairdo and it's very easy to do.
